All it takes is a little luck and that is what Deerfield Beach, Florida, resident Gary Budra had Saturday at the Isle Pompano Park and his good fortune earned him $10,000 cash. Budra, one of thousands of Isle Pompano Park patrons that participated in the Big Race promotion, had the winning combination of 20-5-16 on his Big Race game piece card and walked away as the sole winner of the grand prize. Everyone age 21 and older that came to the track between noon and 5:00 pm Saturday and have an IsleOne Player Club Card was able to get a free game piece at the casino with three numbers representing horses entered in the Kentucky Derby. If any of the game pieces had the trifecta order of finish (first three horses in official order) in the Kentucky Derby, they would share in a $10,000 cash grand prize. There are also other prizes that could be won by having official winning combinations on their game piece from the Kentucky Derby race. The same promotion will take place at the casino on Saturday, May 17, for the Preakness Stakes and again on Saturday, June 7 for the Belmont Stakes. (Pompano)
