Ponder moving to Kentucky for 2008

Ponder, a world champion son of The Panderosa, will be relocating to Kentucky for the 2008 breeding season and will stand at Peninsula in Kentucky, where the state’s sire stakes program will feature $300,000 finals for each class beginning next year. His stud fee will remain at $6,000. In 2007 he stood his first year at stud at Peninsula's Pennsylvania farm.

“The money available to race for in Kentucky, over the mile track at The Red Mile, over a six-week span, is so good that we believe that Ponder will be a great addition to the pacing stallion ranks in the state,” said Peninsula Farm’s Carter Duer. “There is now tremendous opportunity for a young stallion in the Bluegrass.”

Ponder sports a mark of 1:48.1 taken at the Meadowlands when he won the U.S. Pacing Championship on Hambletonian Day, and has career earnings of $1,522,936. His 17 career wins also include the Canadian Pacing Derby, Graduate Series final, and an Allerage Farm elimination at The Red Mile. While racing and winning in the tough free-for-all ranks he posted five sub-1:50 time victories, which included a 1:49 score in the Winbak Farm Pace at the Delaware County Fair.
