Champion trotting filly Poof She's Gone picked up right where she left off in her rookie campaign with an impressive 1:55.3 victory in one of two C$40,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold eliminations for 3-year-old filly trotters on Monday night (May 17) at Woodbine Racetrack. The other split went to Wilsonator, who was just two ticks slower, stopping the clock in 1:56. The daughter of Kadabra-Travelin Superlite is now 11 for 13 in her career for trainer Richard Norman and pushed her bankroll to almost $1.1 million for owners Mel Hartman, John Fielding, Herb Liverman and David McDuffee. Wilsonator used different tactics in the second elimination for driver Sylvain Filion as she wired the field, using a :27.4 final frame to hold off a charging Random Destiny with Renees Pockets finishing a close third. The daughter of Kadabra-Sahalee was a force in the Ontario Sires Stakes last season, winning three of 12 and banking close to $250,000 for owners Michael Pozefsky and Ed Wilson. Monday's race was also the first start of the season for the filly who is trained by Rob Fellows. The C$130,000 OSS Gold Final will be contested as part of Fireworks and Family Fun Night next Sunday (May 23) at Mohawk Racetrack. Here is a complete look at the field in post position order: 1. Ruling Class, 2. Highland Strikes, 3. Emmylou Who, 4. Poof She's Gone, 5. Closeness, 6. The Power Of Magic, 7. Wilsonator, 8. Renees Pockets, 9. Magic Treasure and 10. Random (WEG)
