It was a week that had been highly anticipated by Brittany Farms since the end of last breeding season, and the results started coming Saturday, March 14, when Possess The Magic delivered her first foal, a filly by 2006 trotting Triple Crown winner Glidemaster.
Then on Thursday night, March 19, the $2 million winner Passionate Glide, who captured the Hambletonian Oaks and Breeders Crown, delivered her first foal, a filly by Cantab Hall.
Sandwiched in between was another Glidemaster filly from the Breeder’s Crown winning Flirtin Miss.
“These are the kind of weeks that can keep you going when things get a bit tough," related Brittany Farms manager Art Zubrod. "While Passionate Glide only missed her due date by four days, she had been quite uncomfortable for some time so naturally we were all a bit concerned.
Possess The Magic is booked to Deweycheatumnhowe for this season and Passionate Glide will return to Cantab Hall while Flirtin Miss is booked back to Glidemaster. (Brittany Farms)
