Sandro Hanover, fastest Max C. Hempt Memorial Pace elimination winner last Saturday at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, has drawn the No. 6 post for this Saturday’s $178,072 finals.

Driven by Brian Sears and one of three Hempt finalists trained by Mickey Burke, Sandro Hanover won an elimination race in 1:52, winning by almost four lengths.

Stable mate True North Hanover, who will be driven by Ron Pierce, will be leaving from the eight hole. Both horses are a coupled entry and are owned by George M. Leon of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Ivegotwhatuneed, another entry trained by Burke, will have post No. 1 for the Hempt finals but will wear saddlecloth No. 2.

Other horses in the field with their drivers and posts will include No. 3 Foolish Grin (George Brennan), leaving from the No. 2 post; No. 4 Winbak Speed (John Campbell), assigned the No. 3 hole; No. 5 Tuffofthetoughest (Ray Schnittker), leaving from the No. 4 post; No. 6 Runover Again (Mike Simons), leaving from No. 5 post; No. 7 Tyrant Hanover (Joe Pavia, Jr.), and No. 8 Eagle Real One (David Miller), leaving from the No. 9 post.

True North Hanover won his Hempt elimination split in 1:52.3 while Toughofthetoughest was the third victor with a time of 1:52.1

Ivegotwhatuneed got locked in the three-year-old pacing gelding’s division and came charging home late to finish second to Tuffofthetoughest, losing by only three-quarters of a length.

Since this top 3-year-old race was inaugurated at the Northeastern Pennsylvania racetrack in 1995, the stakes record here is owned by Monsoon Hall. Jack Moiseyev drove Monsoon Hall to a Hempt win in 2002 with a time of 1:51.

All-time 3-year-old pacing colt mark is owned by Third Straight, established July 27, 2002 with a time of 1:50.1 with Mike Vanderkemp in the sulky.

The 3-year-old track mark for a pacing gelding was established by Mark’s Superstar in September of 2002 with Mike Wilder driving. That time was 1:50.3.
