Trailing by six lengths at the half, Primo Spur unleashed a powerful three-wide move that carried him to victory in the $25,000 Preferred Handicap Trot Tuesday at The Meadows. Dismissed at 11-1 in the wagering, Primo Spur scored in 1:56.2 for his fifth victory in his last seven starts. Classical Man fell a half-length short in the “Lightning Lane” while Pembroke Prayer was third. The win was one of four driving victories on the 15-race card for Dick Stillings, who trains the 4-year-old gelded son of Pegasus Spur-T Tar’s Shadowmio for Roy Davis. Brett Miller also fashioned a driving four-bagger. (The Meadows)
