Prince Of Luck came from off the pace to outbrush Redford Hall and Noble Tess to the finish line in 1:51.3 to win the $32,500 Delaware Special while Sharky Osborne went two ticks faster in the $26,000 Open pace, the highlight races on a strong Dover Downs card on Monday. Tim Tetrick drove four winners, reducing the number of wins needed to better Walter Case's all-time one season record of 1,077 to 87. Tetrick also needs to drive winners of around $50,000 to exceed Brian Sears' all-time record of just over $15 million in one-season purses. Ross Wolfenden made the winner's circle three times including the feature race. In the $26,000 Open Handicap pace, Tetrick and trainer Josh Green collaborated for their third winner of the day with a wire-to-wire 1:51.1 triumph for owners Gary Minner and Pete Richardson. Ross The Boss N closed boldly for Roger Plante to finish second. Morand drove What A View home third.
Patchel Family Stable's Home Run Hudson also used a strong front-pacing effort resulting in a 1:52.1 triumph in the first of two $21,000 winners-over paces. The victory for the Astreos 5 year old was his 10th of the year, and marked the second win on the program for Wolfenden. Print It, piloted by Morgan, was second the entire route while Pukpuk Power N and Mike Cole finished third. In another winners-over pace, Morgan drove Dennis Lane's Foolish Grin to a 1:51.2 conquest for trainer Jack Parker Jr. Jasper Bob picked up second money for Arty Foster Jr. with Victor Vuitton N and Tetrick third. Wolfenden won for the third sending Chris Riley N, an altered son of New Zealand's foremost stallion Christina Cullen, to the front and scored a 1:51.3 victory in the third $21,000 winners-over pace. Black Cat Bone, with Ron Pierce, was runner-up. Chewy Gross and Tetrick took show money. Larry Baron's Wynnfield Flash won for the fourth straight time and seventh in his last eight outings as Tetrick and Green teamed again for a fourth win in a $16,500 pace for 3-4-&5-year-old pacers. Full Of Elegance (Pierce) held second from the start. Nights Nautical (George Dennis), a 58-1 shot, was the third-place finisher. Pierce guided Fade N Away to a 1:52 victory for Capone and the Robertos in a $15,000 male pace. It was the 5 year old's second straight win for red-hot trainer John Cabot. Armbro Domi (Morgan) was a game second in front of Four Starzzz Favor (Eddie Davis Jr.). (Dover Downs)
