An agreement to supplement purse money for the racetracks in New Jersey is close to completion, according to a high ranking person in the administration of Gov. Jon Corzine. “We’ve been told by a high ranking Corzine Administration official that they are very close to finalizing a supplement agreement,” said Leon Zimmerman, lobbyist for the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey. “They have given us every indication that it will get done.”
“We know that everyone is anxious to have this resolved and for the details to be announced, but it would be premature for us to say anything further at this time,” said SBOANJ President Tom Luchento.
News and updates will be posted to www.sboanj.comwhen more information is available. (SBOA/NJ)
