Psilvuheartbreaker (Cat Manzi) put forth a season's-best effort Saturday night, winning Yonkers Raceway's featured $37,000 Open Handicap Pace in 1:51.4.

Assigned post position No. 7, "Heartbreaker" worked around longshot  pole-sitter The Awful Truth (Jordan Stratton) before a 27-second opening quarter-mile. He then found a :55.3 intermission before Art's Ragin' Jet (Jim Pantaleano) paid a visit.

"Art," with an eight-hole impost, tucked fifth before making his second move. However, he was never able to get close going toward the 1:23.3 three-quarters. Psilvuheartbreaker owned a 2 3/4-length lead into the lane, then held 17-10 favorite Winbak Fox (Jeff Gregory) at bay by three-quarters of a length. Deuce Seelster (Brent Holland), The Awful Truth and Art's Ragin' Jet completed the payees.

For Psilvuheartbreaker, a millionaire 7-year-old Nobleland Sam gelding owned by Frank Bellino and trained by Bruce Saunders, he returned $9.20  (second choice) for his fifth win in 21 seasonal starts. The exacta paid $37.20, the triple returned $411.50.

New York Sire Stakes action makes its downstate debut Monday night, with $281,844 White Plains Trot for 3-year-old colts and geldings. Six  divisions go as races 3,4,5,6,8 & 9 on the dozen-race card. (Yonkers)
