As if owner Frank Bellino and trainer Bruce Saunders didn't have enough Saturday night fun (see Rock N' Roll Heaven in the Berry's Creek), Psilvuheartbreaker (Cat Manzi) added to it, winning Yonkers Raceway's featured $37,000 Open Handicap Pace.
The even-money favorite, leaving from post position five, offered minimal suspense. He cleared pole-sitting Image of Dawn (Pat Lachance) like a hurdler, rolling through open-lead fractions of :27, :56 and 1:24.2. Handsome Harry (Brett Miller) tried a second move after leaving for a seat, but "Heartbreaker" had four lengths for hone. He won by three comfy lengths in a season's-best 1:53.4, with Days of Courage N (Stephane Bouchard) getting into second and Ghee's House (Brent Holland) third.
A fumbly-gaited Handsome Harry and Lindy's Bandit (Jordan Stratton) completed the payees.
For Psilvuheartbreaker, a millionaire 7-year-old Nobleland Sam gelding, he returned $4.20 for his third win in 17 seasonal starts. The exacta paid $38.80, the triple returned $326.50 and the superfecta paid $4,025. (Yonkers)
