Put On A Show's 1:50.1 sets track mark

Put On A Show is back! The 3-year-old pacing filly rebounded from her poor showing in the Mistletoe Shalee by winning the $350,000 Valley Forge at Harrah's Chester Sunday in 1:50.1. The time was a stakes and track record over the track rated "sloppy," but upgraded to good immediately after this race.

Put On A Show started from posts four and driver Tim Tetrick left the gate with just enough authority to secure a spot third at the pylons as Hula's Z Tam (Pat Lachance) and Rock N Soul (Yannick Gingras) battled for the lead. Once Hula's Z Tam cleared, Tetrick pulled Put On A Show just as the quarter time of :26.2 was posted.

Put On A Show was just about to clear when Brian Sears set sail with Dancinwiththestarz, and Tetrick let them clear just as they headed into the turn en route to the half (:53). Dancinwiththestarz led through the three-quarter mark (1:22) before Tetrick tipped out and directed Put On A Show into the path that had the best footing. Put On A Show sprinted clear and cruised home without a challenge. Dancinwiththestarz held on for second with Hula's Z Tam third.

Put On A Show, a filly by Rocknroll Hanover out of Stienam's Place, has now won eight of 10 starts this year for owners Craig Henderson and Richard and Joanne Young. Chris Ryder trains the filly.

Ryder said the filly's loss in the Mistletoe Shalee was simply a result of a few minor ailments creeping up on her on the day of that race. Two days after that loss "she was as good as ever," he noted.

Ryder said he fully expected the filly to redeem herself in the Valley Forge. "I was really sure she was 100 percent, and when she's herself, she's fantastic," he added.
