Qualifiers at Pompano

In addition to Isle Of Patmos, Mark Capone qualified L Dee's Val, the third-place finisher behind Rainbow Blue in last year's Breeders Crown and Matron, at Pompano. Other notables qualifying were Hambo Oaks champ Silver Springs and Corleone Kosmos.



L Dee's Val finished third in a 1:55.4 mile, pacing her own mile in 1:56.4.



As for Silver Springs, the 4-year-old mare by Yankee Glide finished second in a 1:59 mile.



Corleone Kosmos, who made just two starts at age two, appears poised to be a contender in stakes action. The 3-year-old gelded son of SJ's Photo won his Pompano qualifier in 1:56.3 by an astounding 19 1/2 lengths. Tom Haughton trains and drives the sophomore.
