Horseplex of Indiana has announced that Quality Western, a winner of nearly $1.3 million during his career, will be formally retired from competition Saturday evening, January 30 in a ceremony at the Meadowlands. The ceremony will be held after the third race on the program. With a mark of 1:49.2 and 42 career wins to his credit, the son of Western Hanover is slated to stand his first season for Horseplex of Indiana at Autumn Lane Farm in Thornville, Ohio. The richest stallion to stand in Ohio, Quality Western’s fee is set at $2,500.

“He gave 110 percent every time,” said trainer Richard Johnson, Quality Western’s conditioner in recent years. “He definitely paid his dues. He enjoyed racing and did the best he could. I’ve got to believe his longevity and durability account for something.”

Horseplex of Indiana is adding a second trotting stallion to its Ohio roster for the 2010 breeding season. Cayenne Turbo, 2,1:54.4; 4,1:52.1 ($138,775), by Angus Hall-Tarport Maggie-Baltic Speed, will stand his first season at Autumn Lane Farm in 2010. At three the trotter finished second in an OSS Gold elimination and Goodtimes division. As a four year old he captured a Hiram Woodruff Series leg and finished third in the final. Cayenne Turbo is the fastest trotting stallion in the state, and his solid pedigree and half-mile capabilities will fit well in Ohio. He will stand for a fee of $1,250.

Horseplex of Indiana is also standing stallions E Dees Cam, p,3,1:53.3; 1:48.3 ($864,767) by Cam Fella-Lindwood Sapphire-Abercrombie, and Lawrence, 1:53.1 ($174,549) by Lindy Lane-Keystone Lady Love-Super Bowl, at Autumn Lane Farm for the 2010 season. E Dees Cam is the fastest pacing stallion in the state, and his fee has been set at $1,500. Lawrence is the fastest son of Lindy Lane to stand in North America, and offers the same pedigree as Like A Prayer. The fee for Lawrence is $1,250. In the Hoosier State, Horseplex of Indiana is offering Moon Beam, p,3,1:51f ($772,486), by Dragon Again-Sun N Moon-Artsplace, and All Muscle, a full-brother to World Champion Mr Muscleman, 1:51.1 ($3,582,823). Moon Beam will stand for a fee of $3,000, while All Muscle will stand for $1,250.
