Quik Pulse Mindale scores

Quik Pulse Mindale uncorked a :25.3 final quarter and captured his season debut with a 1:51.2 mile in the Free For All Handicap Pace at Balmoral Park Saturday night.



Big Sham (Andy Miller), who finished third in the mile, took the field to the opening quarter in :28.3, then relinquished the lead to Color Me Best (Tim Wilson Jr.), who set fractions of :57 and 1:25. Meanwhile, Tony Morgan eased Quik Pulse Mindale away from post five, then picked up cover in the outer flow at the half. With the furious finish the 4-year-old Jenna's Beach Boy stallion caught Color Me Best in the closing strides for a neck victory.



Owned by Lloyd Arnold and trained by Mike Arnold, Quik Pulse Mindale was the fastest 3-year-old last year with a 1:48 mile at Balmoral. With this victory he has lifetime earnings of $732,955.
