Corey Callahan altered tactics this week driving Proper Respect from off the lead to notch his fifth win of the season and third consecutive Monday feature. The 4-year-old son of McArdle-She Has The Look sat behind front-pacing Romantic Thriller from the very start before using the passing lane to go by the Ron Pierce-driven second place finisher. The Other Cheek closed along the inside for Tony Morgan to secure third money. Lou Tomczak owns Proper Respect, trained by Carlo Poliseno, now a $137,300 winner this year.
Three Of Spades back racing after a long absence since last March, rolled four wide around the final turn and rushed to a 1:51.1 triumph in the $26,000 Open giving driver Jim Morand a double. Bill DeLodovico and trainer Bib Roberts own the Cam's Card Shark-Triple Flip gelding. Quality Western also closed well for Callahan to finish second. Domitian Hanover with Eric Goodell was the third finisher. Three of Spades raises his career earnings to $307,758.
