Lance Cpl. Brent Beeler, a Marine Corps reservist and the grandson of the late longtime Michigan horseman V.E. Beeler and the son of former Michigan horseman Ed Beeler, has been killed in combat duty in Iraq. Mr. Beeler, 22, was reportedly killed by a gunshot to the chest from close range Thursday, Dec. 7.
