Rair Earth in 1:48.2

Rair Earth, fresh off of his 49-1 upset in last week's Open Pace at Woodbine, stunned the Woodbine spectators for a second week with a 1:48.2 mile that ties the track record.

Phil Hudon put Rair Earth on the lead from the start and cut fractions of :26.2, :55 and 1:22 before blitzing a final quarter in :26 seconds. Jr Mint was 3 1/2 lengths back in second while Our Lucky Killean was third.

The 1:48.2 clocking is the fastest performance in North America this season and it ties him with Admirals Express and Dr No as Woodbine's fastest performers. Rair Earth and Admirals Express are also harness racing's fastest 9-year-old performers in history.

Todd Gray trains the 9-year-old son of Keystone Raider, who has lifetime earnings of $1,483,006, for owners Aubrey Friedman and Brian Nixon.
