In an unusual occurrence at the Meadowlands, in Friday night's 12th race, driver John Campbell filed an objection againt Ron Pierce, claiming interference at the start, and the judges placed Pierce behind Campbell and his mount, JT Luther, who finished fifth and was elevated to fourth.
Drivers rarely file objections at the Meadowlands, although placings routinely take place via judges' inquiry.
After returning to the paddock with JT Luther, Campbell field the objection, claiming Pierce's horse Pedone--who ws starting from post seven while Campbell was lined up in post six--interfered with him at the start. Pedone finished third but was placed fifth, behind JT Luther.
Pierce and Campbell were both involved in the racing accident at Woodbine last October when Campbell fractured his leg.
