The Canadian record for 2-year-old filly trotters was lowered twice on Monday night at Mohawk Racetrack, first by Snow White (1:55.2) and then by Bella Dolce (1:55). The miles came in eliminations for the Oakville Stakes.

The former mark of 1:55.3, set by Syrinx Hanover in October of 2000, was eclipsed in the second elimination when Snow White stopped the clock in 1:55.2 for driver John Campbell.

The powerful daughter of Self Possessed made a quarter-pole move to command at the half in :58.3 and then cruised to an easy victory over Saorse and Anklets Aweigh. It was the seventh win in eight career tries for the Kevin Lare trainee and boosted her bankroll to just under $270,000 for North State Street Stable and Harness The Power of Delaware.

The new standard lasted only two races as Bella Dolce posted a devastating 1:55 victory in the third elimination for Paul MacDonell. The slick-gaited daughter of Kadabra- Pizza Dolce showed early speed for the first time in her young career and, once in control at the :56.3 half, would let no one close to her the rest of the way.

Tonight’s win ran the Richard ‘Nifty’ Norman trainee’s undefeated streak to five and increased her bankroll to just over $180,000 for owner David McDuffee.

Flower Lane was an impressive winner in tonight’s opening split as she scored for Steve Condren in 1:56.2. The daughter of Lindy Lane converted off a pocket trip to turn back Nurse Conway and Jonlinda.

Owned and bred by the Allister Stables of Freehold, NJ, the Brad Maxwell trainee improved her record to six wins in eight starts and increased her seasonal take to just over $83,000.

In the final In elimination, Dancing On Stage trotted to her third win of the campaign with a sharp 1:56.3 effort for driver Tim Tetrick. A daughter of Broadway Hall, Dancing On Stage took command past the half and won in dominant fashion over Morguns Sweetheart and Theres A Way who were both placed up after second-place finisher Diamondsonbroadway was disqualified for violating the breaking rule in the stretch.

The Jim Campbell trainee elevated her earnings to just over $44,000 for owners Arlene and Jules Siegel of New Hope, Pa.
