Mike Oosting had a track record eight driving wins Saturday night, the most ever on a Balmoral Park program. The record performance came exactly four weeks after Oosting bagged seven winners on May 10 which equaled the Crete, IL track record set earlier by Tony Morgan in 1998. Oosting won Saturday’s opener with Monte Walsh ($7.80), the third with Highland Pride ($4.20), and the fifth with Officer Joe ($3.20). His next winner was Rocket Dog ($3.80) in the eighth. Oosting then got on a roll for the tail end of the Balmoral card, winning the last four races starting with the eleventh: Alias Smitty ($4.60), All The Above ($6.40), Grand Freedom ($3.60) and Richnwandaful ($7.00). Oosting is currently fourth in North America in dash winners with 245. The Freemont, Michigan native is coming off his year with 520 victories in 2007 and recently celebrated his 46th birthday (May 25). (Balmoral Park)
