An all-time high carry-over fueled a record $268,176 Pick 4 pool on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands. Upset winners on the Saturday card produced a $47,935 carryover heading into Wednesday night's Pick 4.
However, the carry-over stopped there as the first or second choices in the betting prevailed in all four legs, races six through nine. Deweycheatumnhowe [$3.80], Miss Scarlett [$9.40], Hard Shoe Hannah [$7.80] and Whendreamscometrue [$5.20] returned $398.10 for a $1 wager.
Offered nightly on races six through nine, the Pick 4 features a 15 percent takeout, one of the lowest in the industry.
Fans will have a shot at taking down another large Pick 4 pool this Saturday, July 14. The Pick 4 is guaranteed at $100,000 on Meadowlands Pace Night, with the track's $1 million signature event as the third leg. (Meadowlands press release)
