The Red Mile has announced major stakes sponsors for the 2008 Grand Circuit meet, with the Kentucky Futurity, set for Saturday, Oct. 4, to be sponsored by Margareta Wallenius-Kleberg's Sweden-based, Menhammar Stuteri AB and her US-based Stoner Manor Inc., in conjunction with Cindy & Steve Stewart's Hunterton Farm at Stoner Creek. The estimated purse for the Futurity is $700,000.
The Kentucky Filly Futurity, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 3, will be sponsored by, Al J. Libfeld and Marvin Katz. Both are breeders-owners based in Ontario, Canada. The estimated purse for 2008 is $400,000.
The Horseman And Fair World magazine and harnessracing.com will once again sponsor the Moni Maker, The Red Mile's signature race for 3-year-old filly trotters. The Moni Maker will be raced in eliminations on Sunday, Sept. 7, with the final on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Also, the Nadia Lobell for 3-year-old filly pace will be raced as a one night event on Sunday, Sept. 7 and will be sponsored by The Post Printing Company. (The Red Mile)
