Redneck Riviera coasted to a three-length victory in the $60,000 New Jersey Futurity for three-year-old pacers on Saturday, October 17 at Freehold Raceway.
The son Red River Hanover, driven by Andy Miller and trained by Erv Miller, had the lead at every call and paced the mile in 1:54.4. Darling Angel, a daughter of Artsplace, was second with Riding The Rapids, a Red River Hanover colt, in third by four lengths.
The Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey sponsors the New Jersey Futurity for New Jersey-sired pacers.
Redneck Riviera, a $37,000 Harrisburg Yearling Sale purchase, has six wins, four seconds and two thirds from 20 career outings and has banked $151,700 for Heidi Miller, Carol Reynolds and Benita Simmons, all of Springfield, IL, and Nick Barbieri of Woodbridge, Ontario, who joined the partnership in May.
