Before he was exported Down Under in 2009, Red River Hanover excelled on the track, competing in North America's top stakes as a 3 year old, winning the $1 million North America Cup over Mach Three and McArdle. He was trained by Bill Robinson and Monte Gelrod that season.
Red River Hanover was retired to stud duty at Perretti Farms in New Jersey and later stood at stud in Indiana. His 354 offspring have earned slightly more than $10 million, with his son Drop Red p,3, 1:49, the richest with earnings of $716,000.
