Red Star Hottie cruised on the front end to the sixth victory in her last eight starts, capturing Wednesday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows in a sharp 1:51.

After a demanding first quarter in 27, Dave Palone gave the 1-2 favorite a second-panel breather in 29. The 5-year-old daughter of As Promised-Whitehorse Fever had little trouble getting home from there, defeating the rallying Personal Ad by 1-1/2 lengths. Save My Shark finished third with a tough first-over trip.

Ron Burke trains Red Star Hottie, who extended her career bankroll to $273,690, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. It was one of five wins on the 14-race card for Palone.(The Meadows)
