Only a few days remain to register for the 2009 National Harness Handicapping Championship!

Harness racing's only tournament to feature a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool, the NHHC will bring together the nation's top handicappers on Saturday, April 25 at Meadowlands Racetrack.  Players can buy directly into the tournament for $800 [$400 entry fee/$400 tournament bankroll].

To play, contestants must bet 10 races: their choice of eight Meadowlands races, plus two designated mandatory races (one each from Balmoral and Cal-Expo).

Players keep all pari-mutuel winnings.  Prize payouts are to the Top 10, with first place secured at $20,000.  The NHHC entry fee also includes a welcome reception Friday, April 24, in Pegasus Restaurant and dinner buffet and gift on Saturday, April 25.

Registrations must be received by 8 p.m., Thursday, April 23 in the Meadowlands Marketing Department.  To register by credit card, call 201-460-4050.

In addition to the Meadowlands, participants in the 2009 NHHC include:

Balmoral Park, Buffalo Raceway, Cal-Expo, Harrington Raceway, Maywood Park, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Penn National OTW, Rosecroft, TVG, Tioga Downs, Vernon Downs, Western Regional OTB, and Youbet.  The Horseman and Fair World/harnessracing.com Associate Editor Gordon Waterstone will also compete in the tournament.  (Meadowlands)
