It may have been the coldest night of the year, but the racetrack was on fire with fast miles Monday at Dover Downs, with Natural Talent, Sniper Hall and Immortal Quest N winning for the second straight week in taking the top three races. Tony Morgan and Brian Sears won four races each, Tim Tetrick and trainer Josh Green had triples. Natural Talent repeated his victory in the $40,000 Preferred Handicap Pace as Morgan drove the Nobleland Sam gelding to a 1:51.3 win for Milt Frank, John Fodera, Tony Ferrara and Sam Wienick. It was his third win in six trips this year. Prince Of Luck closed stoutly for Brandon Givens with Sharky Osborne and Tetrick the third-place finisher. Sniper Hall made it two wins in a row. After a victory in a winners-over pace last week, the Blissfull Hall gelding rolled down the passing lane for meet leading driver Morgan for a 1:52 score in the $37,500 Delaware Special. The win was the second for Morgan. Sniper Hall collared the hard-working gray 6-year-old Klondike Kid and Eric Goodell by a head at the wire. Art Director with Sears took third. In the $32,000 Open Pace, Immortal Quest N made it two consecutive impressive wire-to-wire miles as Tetrick put the Sands A Flyin gelding into the lead and cut out a 1:50.4 victory that necessitated a :27.2 final panel to hold off Slickest Hanover and Goodell by a nose. Carter Racing Stable and trainer Bobby Myers own the winner. Givens made full use of the passing lane with Winbak Speed when Tim Curtin came to the outside with Bobnoxious to test front-pacing Glass Pack with Tetrick at the top of the lane in the $29,000 Jr. Open Pace. Winbak Speed the sped home a 1:51.3 winner, his third in a row for Neil Gargiulo and trainer Wayne Givens. Glass Pack held on for second with Bobnoxious settling for third. Frank Dettore's Eagle Real One, piloted by Goodell, held off Victor Vuitton N and Tetrick for a 1:52.3 triumph in one of the $24,000 winners-over paces. Casimir Bad Boy finished third for Andy Miller. PT Stable's Paisan Hall and Sears made the winner's circle after a 1:53 win in another $24,000 winners-over. Jennaration and Roger Plante took second in front of Johnny Be Cool N and Morgan.
Larry Baron's Toucam Sam gave trainer Josh Green his third win on the card when Ron Pierce drove the Cam's Card Shark horse to victory in 1:52.4 breaking a string of three straight third-place finishes. Fade N Away was runner-up with David Miller while He's Personal and Vic Kirby finished third end a two-race win streak. A pair of $21,000 male paces concluded the program. Boy Oh Boy Stable's Marchand gave Morgan his third win of the night, a 1:52.2 decision. Menno Boy was second with Tetrick while Bay Sign and Jonathan Roberts finished third. Morgan closed out the card driving Mildred Ventriglio's Quick And Deadly to a 1:52 triumph in the final $21,000 section. The Firecam with Tetrick was second nipping the Sears-driven Wizsell.
