Restive Hanover in 1:53.2

Restive Hanover, last year's Breeders Crown and Dan Patch Award winning 2-year-old filly pacer of the year, won her second qualifier in a week, racing over the Springfield mile in 1:53.2 with Eric Ledford in the bike.



After an opening quarter in :29, the daughter of The Panderosa raced past the half in :58 and the three quarters in 1:27. Then with a final panel in :26.2 she drew off from Enemy At The Gate and Tom Simmons with Ledford not even pulling the earplugs on the filly.



Injured last winter, Restive Hanover now appears ready to make her first start of the year. Trainer Ervin Miller, who told Ledford he wanted a mile in 1:53, said, "That was a nice mile for her. Eric said she was very strong. I'll see how she comes out of it. I've got to look things over and see where she's eligible. I'll probably get another start in her (overnite) before I go against those (top) fillies."
