Grand Circuit Week, which will feature top young horses from throughout North America, will open Tuesday, July 6, at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs and continue through Monday, July 12.

There will be four divisions of the Judge Moore-W.N. Reynolds Memorial for 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings to get Grand Circuit Week started with three Leta Long-W.N. Reynolds Memorial divisions for 3-year-old filly pacers.

The Leta Long carries purses of $25,000-plus, while the Judge Moore will have purses of $25,000.

Races carry names of horses that the late W.N. Reynolds of Reynolds tobacco fame campaigned during his time.

Trainer-driver Jimmy Takter will have five of his 2-year-old colt trotters in the Judge Moore. They include Pastor Stephen, Gordo Hall, Up Up And Away, Not Nice and I Wish I Could Fly.

Ruffle’s Kiss, coming off a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes 3-year-old filly victory at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, with a time of 1:52, has drawn the number two post in the opening division of the Leta Long.

Trained and driven by Joe Pavia Jr., Ruffle’s Kiss will be looking for three-straight after having won a sire stakes race at Harrah’s Chester, in 1:51.4.

One of the horses to beat in the Leta Long second division is It’s De Lovely, trained by James Giorgianni and driven by Jeff Gregory.

It’s De Lovely got headed out at the wire in the recently raced Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. She drew the two post for Monday’s race.

Two-year-old filly pacers and 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters will have the Grand Circuit spotlight on Wednesday, July 7, with 2-year-old filly trotters featured on Saturday, July 10.

Grand Circuit Week will conclude on July 12 with W.N. Reynolds Memorial races for 2-year-old colt pacers and 3-year-old filly trotters. (Pocono Downs)
