Richie Ingrassia memorial breakfast at the Harness Racing Museum

June 01, 2010 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Richie Ingrassia was taken away suddenly on March 30 and left a loving wife and two adorable children who will need help. They will face a future of some uncertainty.

Alan Schwartz, President of the Monticello Harness Horsemen's Association, organized a Breakfast fund-raiser at the suggestion and, with the support of, many of its Board members and other horsemen moved by Richie’s sudden passing.

The  "All You Can Eat" Pancake Breakfast which will benefit the surviving family will be served at the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen NY on June 20 beginning at 9am. At the breakfast attendees will see and meet some luminaries who have volunteered to serve breakfast. Those “servers” will include the likes of some of the most illustrious horsemen in our business, but most importantly friends of Richie.

Serving  that day will be Ray Schnittker, Jordan Stratton, Jason Bartlett, George Brennan and many others who will  make this breakfast a memorable occasion. Among those who will assist with KP duty include  SOA of NY President Joe Faraldo, along with George Casale, Chris Whittstruck and John Brennan.

The chefs will include President of the Monticello Harness Horsemen's Association, Alan Schwartz, along with fellow  directors, Terry Finch, Bruce Aldrich, and Gary Messenger.

If you are leery about giving your breakfast order to Ray Schnittker, fear the unsteady waiter’s hand of George Brennan, the cooking of Alan Schwartz or the bungling clean- up crew headed by Joe Faraldo, then please simply write a check payable to 'The Richie Ingrassia Fund' and mail it to 365 Main Street, Hurleyville, NY 12747 or visit his website at www.richieingrassiafund.com,

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children u8nder 10 years of age.  All proceeds from this event, along with a planned raffle sale, will go to Richie's wife Kelly and their two children, Richie and Hannah. (MHHA)
