Harness driver Kevin Wallis enjoyed a three-bagger at the isle casino & racing at pompano park Saturday and two of his winner’s were his own horses, Road Hazard and Chicane.

Wallis, 51, from Maidstone, Ontario, started off the evening winning the featured

fifth race $8,800 pace with Road Hazard ($4.20) in 1:53.3.

Leaving from post three, Wallis sent Road Hazard right to the front and never

looked back, cutting fractions of :27.2, :57.3 and 1:25.4 before closing in the

stretch with a :27.4 final quarter mile to win by one length over NF Independence

(Bruce Ranger) and Fifth Street (Wally Hennessey).

It was the seventh win this year for Road Hazard, a six-year-old gelded son of

Northern Luck from the Life Sign mare, Life’s Highway. Wallis’s wife, Linda, trains

Road Hazard.

Then Wallis won again with his own horse in the seventh race $6,500 pace with

Chicane ($3.60) in 1:53. After a quarter-move early on to take command, Wallis

and Chicane led the rest of the one mile race to win by one open length over Rif

Raf Star (David Ingraham) and Armbro Aviator (Andy Santaramo).

It was the fourth win this year for Chicane, a seven-year-old gelding by Camluck. (Pompano Park)
