Dr. Andy Roberts was unsuccessful in his bid to win a seat in the Kentucky state Senate as the Lexington, Ky.-based horseman and veterinarian came up short in the Republican primary held Tuesday.
With all of the precincts reporting in the election for the Republican spot on the November ballot for the state's 12th District--which encompasses The Red Mile, Roberts had garnered 28.7 percent of the votes, far behind incumbent Alice Forgy-Kerr's 71.3 percent. The vote tally was Kerr 6,805, Roberts 2,738.
