Roberts Rage, co-owned and trained by Carl Jamieson, took over from stablemate and pacesetter Legacy N Diamonds in mid-stretch, before going on to register a two and one-half length score in the $100,000 Metro Pace Consolation, Saturday at Mohawk Racetrack. Six two-year-olds went postward in the Consolation, after failing to qualify last weekend for the $1 million Metro Pace, scheduled as part of tonight’s lucrative Breeders Crown card, which offers more than $4 million in purses. Driven by Jody Jamieson, Roberts Rage enjoyed a pocket trip until collaring favoured Legacy N Diamonds after the three-quarters was reached in 1:25.1. From there, the son of Artsplace drew away for his second win in six starts in a career best 1:52.2. Fun Of The Game closed for second, while Todd J H Hanover was third, as Legacy N Diamonds faded late to fourth. Last week, the bay colt had finished fourth, nine and one-half lengths behind Deuce Seelster in his Metro elim. As one of three fourth-place finishers, he had a chance to be drawn by lot into tonight’s final. However, that opportunity went to Weekend Gambler. Roberts Rage picked up $50,000 for the win, boosting his career bankroll to over $83,000. (Mohawk)
