Rockingham Park lifts restrictions

As of Friday, the chief veterinarian of the State of New Hampshire, Dr. Stephen Crawford, and New Hampshire Racing Commission Veterinarian Dr. Matt Levesque have lifted all restrictions on horses stabled at Rockingham Park.

There have been no clinical cases of horses with strangles at Rockingham and negative tests results have been returned for all horses stabled in the one barn in question.

Four weeks ago there was a postive test on one horse in a single barn and restrictions were imposed. Since that time all of the horses in that barn have been tested and negative cultures and negative PCR tests have come back. At no time during this period did any horse on the grounds show any clinical symptoms of the infection.

Through this period Rockingham has not been under any shipping restrictions except for the horses in the one barn.

With the approval of Dr. Crawford and Dr. Levesque, there are no longer any restrictions, and all of the horses in that barn are released to race and ship as of today. (Rockingham Park)
