A Rocknroll Dance, whose connections accepted the bye to advance directly to the Cane Pace final, drew post six for Monday afternoon's $322,716 renewal of the first jewel of pacing's Triple Crown at Tioga Downs. This is the first time the Cane will be raced at Tioga; it was scheduled for 2011 but flooding in the area prompted it to be moved to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
The winner of the Meadowlands Pace and Battle of the Brandywine, A Rocknroll Dance will be driven by Yannick Gingras for trainer and co-owner Jim Mullinix.
The Cane Pace final had an open draw and that didn't do Heston Blue Chip, who was supplemented into the race and was an impressive winner in the Cane elim, any good as he landed the outside post nine. Tim Tetrick drives for trainer Linda Toscano.
Pet Rock and State Treasurer, also supplemented into the Cane, drew posts seven and three, respectively. Time To Roll, whose connections took the second bye directly to the final, will start from post two.
Also on the card is the companion $100,000 Shady Daisy for 3-year-old filly pacers. Here is the draw for the $322,716 Cane Pace, which is scheduled as race 9 on the Labor Day card with an approximate post of 4:10 p.m.
