Rooney HHI's Man of Year

Harness Horsemen International (HHI) has named Yonkers Raceway president Tim Rooney its Man of the Year. The award will be presented at HHI's annual awards banquet on March 7 in Florida.

For the past 18 months Rooney has been involved with the project to reopen Yonkers Raceway as both a video gaming facility and revitalized racetrack. Thus far the racing oval has been reconfigured, and Rooney has plans to upgrade the backstretch, boost purses of Yonkers' signature events, and bring back such classics as the International Trot.
