Quicksilvercandy A (Larry Stalbaum) was farthest out and fastest home Friday night, winning Yonkers Raceway's co-featured $33,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap Pace.

Leaving from post position two, she watched the early action, which began with Delightful Diva (Jim Pantaleano) stuffing Breakheart Pass (Jason Bartlett) in behind before a :27.1 opening quarter-mile. Ride Jumper (George Brennan), the 11-10 choice from the pole, then worked her way to the lead before a :56.1 intermission.

Breakheart Pass, out and moving from third, offered a stiff test to the favorite in and out of the 1:24.2 three-quarters. Ridge Jumper was able to hold that one at bay off the final turn, but the walls were closing in.

Quicksilvercandy A, slipping off the cones to race third-over. found her best stride down the middle of the track. She was able to get the better of a pylon-skimming Fox Valley Sage (Cat Manzi) by a neck in 1:53.4. Arctic Fire N (James Rattray) was third from a second-up trip, with Ridge Jumper and Delightful Diva grabbing the remainder.

For Quicksilvercandy A, an 8-year-old Down Under-bred owned by Stalbaum and trained by Kim Asher, she returned $32.80 (seventh choice) for her second win in as many seasonal starts. The exacta paid $341, with the triple returning $1,355.

Friday night's co-featured $33,000 Open Handicap Trot saw Rose Run Hooligan (Pat Lachance) turn in a wire-to-wire performance.

Leaving from post four, tepid 5-2 choice "Hooligan" worked around the pole-sitting Sun of a Victory (Jordan Stratton) just after a :28.1 opening couple of furlongs. Lachance then rated a :58 second half before Wuthering Hanover (Brent Holland) prompted the action.

Rose Run Hooligan's :28.4 third quarter (1:26.4) put the challenger away, with Rose Run Hooligan taking a length-and-half lead into the lane. He defeated Sun Of A Victory by a half-length in 1:57. A good effort from Wuthering Hanover held third, with Celebrity Bluechip (Bartlett) and Pembroke Prayer (Eric Goodell) earning the minor awards.

For Rose Run Hooligan, a 9-year-old son of Corleone co-owned by (trainer) Rene Allard and Ferme Bureau Et Fils Senc, he returned $7.50 for his first win in a couple of '12 tries. The exacta paid $24, the triple returned $170.50 and the superfecta paid $712.

Yonkers' five-night-per-week (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday) live schedule continues. First post for all programs remains at 7:10 PM. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting available around the NYRA schedule. (Yonkers)
