Rucker suspended 180 days

Return Home
December 09, 2005 | Print View

Trainer Ken Rucker, whose 304 wins in 2005 place him third on the national standings and $3.79 million in purse earnings ranks him sixth, has received six suspensions of 30 days each for positive tests for indomethacin in his home state of Illinois.

Illinois Racing Board projects manager Mickey Ezzo confirmed to harnessracing.com Friday that Rucker had recently been fined a total of $3,000 for a pair of indomethacin positives before receiving another six. Indomethacin is commonly known as Indocin and is used to treat humans for gout.

According to Ezzo, Rucker paid the first $3,000 in fines and then requested and was granted a 30-day stay Nov. 30 regarding the six positives that resulted in another total six-month suspension.
