Sadinsky moving to Lottery

Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) chair Stanley Sadinsky said today (June 26) he will soon step down to take the position of chair of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLGC), the body which governs the province's widely-successful slots at racetracks program.



Sadinsky will replace Ron Barbaro as chair of the OLGC. Barbaro also holds the position of chief executive officer of the Lottery Corp. Sadinsky said those duties will be filled by someone else.



"They're splitting the functions and a new CEO will be the subject of a search sometime in the very-near future," said Sadiinsky.



As for his new post, Sadinsky said, "I am excited about it. It's a wonderful opportunity. Of course, the OLGC deals with gaming at large, except for the details of horse racing in the province. I'm extremely interested in the big picture."

Other than the slots at racetracks program, the OLGC also runs the province's lotteries, commercial casinos and the charity and native casinos.



Sadinsky, who has been chair of the ORC since 1994, said, "I'm certainly going to miss the day-to-day involvement with the (horse racing) industry, which I really enjoyed very much."
