The Kentucky Horse Racing Authority (KHRA) has announced that every driver participating in a sanctioned Standardbred race in Kentucky is now required to wear a safety vest that meets the specifications
established by the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA).
According to the rule, 810 Kentucky Administrative Regulation 1:075 Section 21, provides that each driver shall wear a safety vest that meets this requirement, if racing, parading or warming up a horse prior to racing.
"We all have an interest in improving safety measures to reduce exposure to injury. The KHRA appreciates your compliance with this and other racing regulations," stated a KHRA press release.
