Spam Spade coasted to one-length victory in the $100,000 Charles I. Smith Final on Friday afternoon at Freehold Raceway, hitting the wire in 1:57.4. The Smith, carded as race seven, is restricted to New Jersey-sired three-year-old trotters and is sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey.

Sam Spade, a son of Dream Vacation [$2.60, $2.20, $2.10], held off a pair of Yankee Glide sons, Star Ledger [$3.40, $3.00], second by a length, and Native Yankee [$3.20], third by two lengths.
