Trainer Ed Clement recorded a hat trick on Thursday night at Saratoga as he climbed into a third place tie in the trainer standings. It was favorite night as nine of the evening's 13 races were won by the public's choice and there was a pick three that returned a record low $2.80.
Clement teamed up with driver Dan Cappello Jr. for two of his three wins on the night as Jim Jam Gigolett and Double Brand repeated as 1-5 favorites. Leading driver Frank Coppola Jr. piloted the third winner from the Clement barn as Ithink I Love You pulled off one of the rare upsets on the evening as she got up in the final strides to prevail at 7-1. A longtime regular at Saratoga, Clement was award the track's breakthrough award two seasons ago and has enjoyed plenty of success over the past three seasons at the Spa. (Saratoga)
