Ohio’s best sophomore fillies blew into Scioto Downs on Friday night and put on a great show for the racing fans in seven divisions of Ohio Sires Stakes. Seven different drivers posed for photos in the winner’s circle after the $20,000 events.

The fastest 3-year-old trotting filly of the evening was She’s Not Red, driven to victory by Sam “Chip” Noble in 1:55.4. The daughter of Emile Angus won by 6-1/2 lengths over Southern Jade with Sand Fanci well back in third.

Other trotting winners were Sugar N Chips for driver Chris Page in 1:59.2 and Norma’s Rose in 1:59.1 for Aaron Merriman. Sugar N Chips defeated Pegafest and heavily-favored Ms Pollyanna while Norma’s Rose led all the way to win over Pignoli and Flawless Chip.

The sophomore pacing filly Sugar Scoot Brown opened the program with a smashing 1:53.3 win at odds of 12-1 for driver Ryan Stahl. She won over Kay’s Yankee Lou and Cute And Cruising.

Shell I Attack won the second Ohio Sire Stakes for 3-year-old pacing fillies with a neck victory in 1:55.1 over 1-2 favorite Cruzin Inya Jammys and Yankee Pankee BB. The third OSS split went to Jane’s Big Gal who was impressive in her 1:54 wire-to-wire win. Second was Gadget and Yankee Royalty was third. Bob Harper drove the winner.

The Ohio Sires Stakes action wrapped up in the tenth race with another filly showing her heels to her rivals from start to finish. Perfect M Forever was a 1:54.2 winner over CC Shakeurmunymaker and Medoland Kendall. Mark Winters drove. (Scioto)
