Scott's license reinstated

Vernon Downs' majority owner Shawn Scott had his New York State racing license reinstated by a state Supreme Court judge, who ordered the Racing and Wagering Board to prove at a March 11 hearing why Scott shouldn't have a license.



Scott owns 52 percent of Vernon Downs but in December 2003 had his license revoked by the Racing and Wagering Board. Earlier this month, Mid-State Raceway, the parent company of Vernon Downs, turned down a financing offer from Scott and instead accepting a financing agreement with Jeff Gural.
