Brian Sears, 37, became the 49th driver in harness racing history to win 5,000 win races when he scored with Thomas Thomas Monday night at Dover Downs.

Sears used the passing lane to drive Juliana Swinford and Wendy Crissman's Thomas Thomas to a 1:53.3 victory in a $25,000 claiming race. Earlier Sears' 4,999th win came in the first race behind Cobbler Hanover, a 1:53.2 winner of a $20,000 Delaware Claiming Allowance.

Sears added three more wins to bring his career total to 5,003, all trained by Chuck Crissman, who had four wins for the day.
