August 27, 2009 Send To A Friend  | Print View

The second of three pools on the 2009 “Future Wager” for the Little Brown Jug is fast approaching. Wagering will get underway at 12 noon on Thursday and will be offered through 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30.

Well Said, winner of the North America Cup and the Meadowlands Pace is the 3-1 favorite in the second of three future wagering pools for the 64th Little Brown Jug. The sophomore son of Western Hanover has earned over $2.1 million lifetime and owns a mark of 1:47.3. Well Said is owned by Jeffrey Snyder and Susan Grange’s Lothlorien Stable.

Mr. Wiggles is second in the morning line at odds of 4-1. Mr. Wiggles has won 12 of 22 lifetime starts and has earned over $782,000 for Elmer Fannin and George Teague Jr. Teague also trains the son of Badlands Hanover.

Rounding out the top three in the morning line odds is Vintage Master at 9-2. Vintage Master was the upset winner of the $677,665 Adios final on Aug. 1 at The Meadows in Washington, Pa. Jimmy Takter trains the Western Ideal colt for Brittany Farms and the Brian Monieson Revocable Trust.

The field is 12-1 in the morning line and includes all 3 year olds except the 23 who are ranked in the second future pool morning line.

Future wagering will be offered at race tracks and on internet sites throughout North America. Complete past performance lines for the horse in the second Jug future wager will be available free of charge on the Little Brown Jug Web site at www.littlebrownjug.com.

A team of six racing analysts and handicappers selected the group of 23 colts and geldings. Each colt was then assigned odds based on the selection order.

Tickets for the 64th edition of the Little Brown Jug are still available by calling (800) 335-3247.
