Sedona Canyon came from off the pace while Jeter Marvel led from the start in winning efforts in $18,000 feature trots on Wednesday at Dover Downs.
Corey Callahan moved Sedona Canyon into action after the three quarters and the well-bred Yankee Glide-Casual Breeze gelding rolled into the lead rounding the last turn and was all alone at the wire in 1:54.3. Owned by Mike Casalino and trainer Dylan Davis, the win was the third of the meet and fourth in the last six starts for Sedona Canyon. Spunky Vic (Ross Wolfenden) closed strongly to finish second. Impel Hanover (Jim King) was the show horse.
In the co-feature $18,000 trot, Daryl Bier made good use of starting from post one driving Jeter Marvel to a wire-to-wire 1:56 triumph, the second in four races for the Muscles Yankee-Meadow Hush gelding owned by Bier and Glenn DelRusso. DC Northern (Brad Hanners) stalked the winner from the start and held on for second in his first local race after arriving from the Meadows. Valdez (Tony Morgan) closed strongly from fifth on the final turn to finish third. (Dover Downs)
