Bob’s Alibi was the fastest of four Senior Trendsetter Series winners with a 1:53.3 score on Sunday afternoon at the Meadowlands. With Brian Sears in the sulky, Bob’s Alibi coasted wire to wire in the fifth race Senior Trendsetter split for 4-year-old pacers.
It was a length back to Rock Hard Ten, who followed the winner around the track. Bob’s Alibi paid $3.60.
Trained by Mickey Burke, Bob’s Alibi picked up his second win in five starts this year at the Meadowlands. The Ohio-bred son of His Alibi is owned by Burke’s wife, Sylvia, and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Dontakeyourguns [1:55, race three], Yankee Galaxy [1:55.2, race eight] and Free De Vie [1:53.4, race 10] also won their Senior Trendsetter Series.
The series continues with a second leg on Feb. 17. The top 10 money-earners in the series advance to an estimated $75,000 final on Feb. 24. (Meadowlands)
