Favored Serenity Seelster captured the $33,534 final of the Miss Vera Bars series at Woodbine Thursday night, defeating Lady D M by three quarters of a length in 1:55.4.

Tony Kerwood was at the lines of the Camluck lass as she pulled first-over at the half and tracked down the pace-setting Lady DM and Mike Saftic. Serenity Seelster opened a 1 1/2-length lead early in the stretch then held on as Lady DM's rallied back in deep stretch. My Fine Lady and Paul MacDonell were third.

John A. MacMillan trains and co-owns the winner with Glenn and Garth Bechtel. Serenity Seelster, who won three of 10 starts last year and took a mark of 1:54.4, captured last week's second leg of the Miss Vera Bars in her season debut.
