Crawdad and Go On BB lengthened their winning streaks as they completed sweeps of their respective stakes series on Thursday night at the Meadowlands, with Crawdad taking the Fox Sports Net final in 1:49.4 and Go On BB snagging the Blossom final in 1:52.2.

Crawdad locked up his fifth straight win and second Meadowlands series crown in the $43,000 Fox Sports Net, an early non-wagering event raced prior to the start of the card. Driven by Andy Miller, Crawdad flew home to a 2 1/2-length win over Natural Talent in a career best 1:49.4.

"He doesn’t like being first-up and I was just waiting until I got a little pressure from behind me,” Andy Miller said. “I pulled him and just set out and started moving forward. He was pacing pretty hard. I thought we might go around 1:50. He did it pretty handily.”

Trained by Andy’s older brother, Erv Miller, Crawdad surpassed the $200,000 earnings mark with the victory. Crawdad captured the $121,300 Four Leaf Clover earlier this season, along with the first two legs of the Fox Sports Net Series. He has been first or second in 12 of 13 starts in 2007. The 4-year-old gelding was an $18,000 yearling purchase by the Red Barn Stable of Morrison, Illinois [Robert, Mary and Jennifer Black; Kevin and Susan Beth].

In the second race, Go On BB [$2.60, $3.00. $2.10] made it eight straight wins as she narrowly held off her stablemate Summer In Fiji [$2.60, $3.00, $2.10] in the $62,000 Blossom Final. Weekie Wachie [$2.10] rallied off a fourth-over trip to finish third.

"Last week, Ronnie [trainer Ron Burke] said she was a little sick,” said winning driver Yannick Gingras. “She won, but she wasn’t quite as good I think. Tonight, she was back on her game. I had [Summer In Fiji] give me a little scare finishing but we held her off. She raced good tonight, last half in :55. It’s only her third start of the year and she can only get better from here, I think.”

Trained by Ron and Mickey Burke and owned by Frank Baldachino of Clarksburg, New Jersey, Go On BB has now won 10 of 13 career starts. Her skein began on Sept. 6, 2006 at Indiana Downs. (Meadowlands press release)
